Extraordinary Women Conference will be held on Saturday, February 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 4601 University Drive South, Fargo. “Hope for Haiti” – a benefit dinner of Asian cuisine and entertainment will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 710 10th Street South, Fargo, on Saturday, February 6 from noon to 4 p.m. Free will offering for the American Red Cross. For more information, call 261-5637.

The Fargo Lions Club will hold its annual “For Your Eyes Only” fundraiser to benefit Haiti and other humanitarian causes on Saturday, February 6, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Silver Moon Supper Club, 309 Roberts Street, downtown Fargo. Reserved tickets are required. They are $75 and available at North Home Furniture and Design or from any Fargo Lion, or by calling 271-1550. Entertainment by Great Plains Harmony, and VIP limousine transportation to the Ford Building for dessert. The Deb Jenkins band will perform from 6:30-10 p.m. and there will be a live auction and dessert and beverages at the VIP Room. A separate $10 ticket for this part of the event is available.

Dakota Medical Foundation has selected First Choice Clinic to participate in the 2010 Giving Hearts Day, a 24 hour online fundraising event, on Thursday, February 11. Monday, February 15

The Park Christian School cheerleaders will hold their annual cheer camp for girls Pre-K through 6th grade. The camp is open to PCS and non-PCS students. It will be held on Monday, February 15 from 2-4 p.m. in the school gym. The girls will perform at the half time of the Varsity Boys BB game on Saturday, February 20. The cost for the camp is $20 and will include a snack and Tshirt.

DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids is a weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced and their children. It will be located at Hope Lutheran Church – South Campus at 3636 25th St. S. from 6:30 to 8:00 starting February 15, 2010 and runs for 13 weeks. The Northern Plains Prayer Retreat will be held at the AmericInn in Medora, February 21-23. It begins Sunday evening at 7 p.m. and ends on Tuesday at noon. “Ruby’s Pantry”, an outreach program of Home and Away Minstries is held the fourth Monday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Inspiration Church of Breckenridge. Messiah Lutheran Church – Heartsprings Ministry - will be holding a camp for children kindergarten through 5th grade who live with Asperger’s. Both morning and afternoon sessions involve four professionals in occupational, music, and equestrian therapies and drama coaching. This half-day camp is at “Riding on Angel’s Wings” in Felton, MN. A Cancer Care Support Group meets at Atonement Lutheran Church, 4601 South University Drive, Fargo on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. This group is designed to provide a confidential atmosphere where cancer patients, cancer survivors and family can discuss the challenges that accompany the illness with others who may have experienced the same challenges.

Birthright needs people-men or women- to staff our office hours. Do you have 6 (or more) hours to spare each month? Is God asking you to give a little time each month to provide hope to someone in crisis? Or do you know someone who would be perfect for Birthright and needs a little nudge? Birthright will provide free training beginning Monday, Oct. 12th for three Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30 in the Clay County Family Service Center. Call 291-5799 to register. They are also in need of “Birthright Buddies”- People who feel they aren’t ready to work directly with the clients but would like to help the volunteer on duty . These people are asked to attend the first training session so that they will be comfortable answering telephone calls and greeting clients.
